To prevent environmental disasters, a group of environmentally conscious and nature lovers from Srimangal, Moulvibazar, have undertaken a tree planting program. They have planted trees in different places in the upazila.

The three-day tree planting program led by teacher and nature lover Tariq Hasan concluded on Friday (May 15).

Tariq Hasan said that in the last 3 days, they have planted 20 trees of different species along the roadside, in educational institutions and in playgrounds. Bamboo fences have been made to ensure that the seedlings can grow safely. In addition, the planted trees will be taken care of and maintained for up to 2 years.
He said that 100 trees can be planted in a day. But it is difficult to say how many of these trees will survive. We hope that all the trees will grow safely in the system in which we have planted 20 trees, except for natural disasters. He further said, the impact of climate change is being felt all over the world. In our country, various destructive behaviors of nature are being observed, which were not there before. Planting trees is very important to protect the country from this. He called on various social organizations and individuals to plant at least one tree each.
