6 Rohingya members entered Bangladesh from India through Baghchhara in 1302 Main Pillar area of Jaintapur border in Sylhet with the help of a gang of brokers. Later, there was a commotion in the local area, but the officials of the Lalakhal BOP of the 19th BGB denied the matter.
On-site investigation revealed that on Monday, August 25, at approximately 12 noon, 6 Rohingya members entered Bangladesh through a place called Baghchhara in 1302 Pillar area of Charikata Union of Jaintapur Upazila. At that time, local brokers Suleiman (27) son of Mohib Mia of Kamrangikhel Dakshin village, Selim (35) son of Nur Uddin of Nishchintpur village, and Anwar alias Anor (32) son of Babul Mia of Nishchintpur village brought them to the forest in the Baghchhara area on his instructions. At that time, Md. Locals including Akbar Ali’s son Roman Ahmed (24) and Abdul Matin’s son Abul (45) witnessed the incident. They recorded a video of the incident. At that time, Anwar Uref Anwar was heard discussing with the Rohingyas. At one stage, a scramble began to cover up the matter. Meanwhile, when the locals informed the BOP, Tolhatim went to the spot and members of the broker gang quickly removed 3 Rohingyas.
Although there was discussion about this throughout the day, the locals alleged that the BGB arrived for mysterious reasons, but despite finding 1 man, 1 woman and 1 child, they did not record video and arrest them. They also said that men, women and children are entering from India through the border in Lalakhal, Baghchara, Afifnagar, Jangibil, Lalmiar Tila, Yunucher Tila, Tumair, Rabar Bagan, Yongrajar and Balidara areas through the broker gang. But the concerned BGB does not know anything.
When contacted on mobile phone, the commander of Lalakhal BOP told the reporter that he did not know about the detention of Rohingyas. When the reporter was told that the photos and videos were saved, he said, “I am outside the camp, I will inform you about the truth of the incident after returning to the camp.” Later, when he called him, he did not pick up the phone.
When the accused Selim was contacted several times to inquire about this, he did not answer the phone.
On the other hand, in this incident, a fight broke out over the recording of videos and taking pictures, and a mobile phone and 2 lakh were snatched, and a written complaint is being filed with the police station, stating the names of three people, said Md. Akbar Ali.
The officer-in-charge (OC) of Jaintapur Model Police Station said, “I have received a complaint, legal action will be taken after investigation.”
