The Narayanganj Citizens’ Committee has demanded the recovery of 76 percent of Rajuk’s land, which was sold to former MP Shamim Osman’s aide Khaled Haider Khan Kajal and Nupur Kumar Bhowmik, ignoring the law. Ministers, MPs and dishonest officials of Rajuk involved in the sale of this land in the heart of the city have been demanded to be prosecuted.

The leaders of the civic committee made this demand in the sit-in program next to the place in Balur field on Saturday. They said that no new Shamim Osman will be born in Narayanganj. No construction will be allowed here until the case is over.

During the stay programme, Rafiur Rabi said that Rajuk Shamim Osman’s cadre sold land to Nupur Kumar and Kajol at a low price while a case was pending. Both of them sold the land they bought to Mostafizur Rahman, Managing Director of Popular Diagnostic Center at a higher price of Tk 8 to 10 crore. Advocate Mahbubur Rahman Masum, former president of Narayanganj Press Club, said that earlier there was a mafia group led by Shamim Osman. Now another group wants to become mafia. No construction will be allowed on this land until the case is over.
