Police have detained three individuals in Osmani Nagar, Sylhet, while they were preparing for a torch procession organized by the banned student organization, Chhatra League.

They were detained on Friday (September 18) around 9:45 PM from the Dhaka-Sylhet Highway in the Kashikapon Termail area of ​​Dayamir Union.

The detainees are Sabbir Ahmed Biplob (26), Nahid Hasan (21), and Hridoy Pal (20).

Police stated that preparations for the torch procession by the banned Chhatra League were underway on the Dhaka-Sylhet Highway in the Kashikapon Termail area around 9:45 PM on Friday. A patrol team from Osmani Nagar Police Station conducted a raid and detained the three individuals along with evidence from the scene.

Police further stated that efforts are underway to arrest others who fled the scene, utilizing information obtained from the detainees.

The Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Osmani Nagar Police Station confirmed the incident. He stated that efforts to identify and arrest everyone involved are ongoing, and legal action against the detainees is currently in process.
