Police have arrested four individuals in connection with the attack, looting, and vandalism at the Radda MCH-FP Center in the capital’s Mirpur area.

Akhtar Hossain, Deputy Commissioner (DC) and spokesperson for the Media and Public Relations Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), confirmed the matter on Saturday.

The incident involving the attack, vandalism, and looting at the Radda MCH-FP Center—located in Mirpur Section 1—took place late Thursday night. The following day, the clinic’s Executive Director, Nasrin Akter, filed a case with Shah Ali Police Station. One individual named Hanif Mia was named as an accused in the case, alongside approximately 250 unidentified persons.

Clinic authorities alleged that at least two hundred masked individuals held security guards hostage and entered the health center. During the incident, they looted medical equipment, medicines, government-supplied vaccines, cash, and other valuable items; they also used heavy machinery to demolish one concrete building and three semi-concrete structures.

Authorities further alleged that following the attack, a signboard bearing the name “Samomona Dokandar Samabay Samity Limited” (Like-minded Shopkeepers’ Cooperative Society Ltd.) was hung at the site. Additionally, it was claimed that although police were present at the scene during the attack, no immediate action was taken.
