Kanighat (Sylhet) Representative //
Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested two youths of Gopalganj from Dana border area of Kanighat upazila of Sylhet. Both of them were desperately trying to infiltrate into India.
On Friday (September 6) around two o’clock in the afternoon, BGB members on patrol arrested them from Barakhewor area within 150 yards of the main filler No. 1333 of the Dana border.
The arrested are Moshiur Rahman (48) son of Ismail Molla of Bara Bahirbhag village of Rajpat union of Kashiani upazila of Gopalganj district and Liakat Sheikh son of Bablu Hossain of Charpaddavila village of Maheshpur union. 16,000 taka in cash and 10,200 Indian rupees were recovered after searching their bodies. They are believed to be involved with two smuggling gangs.
Habildar Jewel of Sonarkhewor BGB camp has confirmed its authenticity. He said the arrested have been handed over to Kanigghat police station and preparations are underway to file a case.
