Fertilizer application and weeding work will start in a few days. Farmers are expecting a good yield if there is no damage to the paddy in the coming stages. In the current season, the target of Ropa Aman Abad in Habiganj is 88 thousand 320 hectares.

According to the information of the Department of Agriculture, 3 thousand 186 hectares of cultivated land in 9 upazilas in the district were submerged in recent floods. Most of these affected lands have been planted in the second phase. Even so, there is a fear of reducing the production of 9 thousand 485 tons of rice. Pirijipur is a village of several hundred farmers in Ajmiriganj upazila.
Going to the surface, it is known that most of the farmers of the village have completed the work of planting saplings in the land. They are now preparing to apply fertilizers and weed the land.
Warish Mia, who cultivated saplings on 30 bigha of land in the village, said that due to the flood in July, the planting time has been delayed by a week. However, due to rapid planting, there should not be a major negative impact on production.
Motaher Hossain of Hengu Miapara in Baniachong upazila has planted saplings on 15 bigha of land. From there 5 bighas were sunk. Later he planted saplings in the land in the second round.
Motaher Hossain said that since there were no seedlings in the area, they had to be bought from outside for the second round of planting. As a result, the cost has increased, the production will also decrease slightly. He is now waiting for rain. Then get down to fertilizing and weeding.
Habiganj District Agriculture Extension Directorate Deputy Director Noore Alam Siddiqui told Morningsun, considering the overall situation, 3 lakh 76 thousand 639 tons of paddy is expected to be produced from 88 thousand 320 hectares of land. If rice is used, it will be 2 lakh 51 thousand 93 tons.
