The Department of Agricultural Extension has distributed power sprayers and modern rice harvesting machines to farmers in Jaintapur Upazila of Sylhet at subsidized prices.

On Monday (April 21) at 1:45 pm, Jaintapur Upazila Nirbahi Officer George Mitra Chakma was present as the chief guest at the distribution ceremony of this modern technology agricultural machinery at the Jaintapur Upazila Agriculture Office premises. Upazila Agriculture Officer Shamima Akhter was also present as the special guest at the time.

The Department of Agricultural Extension, Jaintapur, informed that these modern agricultural machinery parts have been distributed to farmers at subsidized prices under the Flood Reconstruction Emergency Assistance Project (FREP) project. Three power sprayers and two modern technology rice harvester reapers have been distributed among the farmers at the group level by paying 30% of the price.

Also present at the distribution ceremony were Deputy Assistant Agriculture Officer Noman Ahmed, Deputy Assistant Agriculture Officer (Plant Protection) Nurul Islam Khan, Mamunur Rashid, Saleh Ahmed, Shoaib Ahmed, Sanjida Israt, Habiba Begum, Khadija Sultana and other beneficiaries of the FreeF project.
