Another case has been registered in connection with the anti-discrimination student movement. On Wednesday, Kazi Shamim Ahmed, the son of Kazi Sufi Mia, a resident of Agua village of Baniachong Upazila, along with Muhibur Rahman Mahi, the organizing secretary of the district Jubo League, Chashma Tarek, a resident of Gosaipur area, named 42 people and about 200 unknown people were charged. The case has been registered as an FIR, the OC said.
According to the case, there was a clash with Awami League leaders and activists during the anti-discrimination student movement in front of the town hall under Sadar Thana on July 18 at noon. At that time they fired at the students. Shamim Ahmed along with Manju Mia, Dulal Mia, Joynal Sardar, Al Amin, Helalur Rahman and more than half a hundred students were injured.
