In broad daylight, the controversial alleged millionaire-turned-sudden land fraud and smuggling ring’s godfather Ratan Mani Mohant alias Bangi Mohant, has declared a person unwanted from the religious rituals by standing in front of the public at the Sri Sri Shyam Sundar Jiur Akhra Mandab and reading a note. This is drawing sharp criticism in the local area.

It is learned that this sensational incident took place at around 11 am on Friday (December 27) at the Sri Sri Shyam Sundar Jiur Akhra Mandab in the Uttara residential area of Islampur Majortila. Later, after receiving news of this heinous incident, the unwanted/outcast person Bishu Deb Nath filed a written complaint with the Sylhet District Commissioner seeking redress and justice. He filed this complaint yesterday (January 5) Sunday.

In his written complaint, he mentioned that the charges brought against him on Friday, December 27, were made to cover up the news. Which amounts to treason. He said in his complaint that in a short time, Bangi Mohant has become the owner of hundreds of crores of taka through illegal means. The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has already found evidence of evading nearly crores of taka of government revenue against him. In addition, he is banned from leaving the country. During the Awami League government, he went from zero to a millionaire. Although regular news about this is published in the country’s national and local dailies, including online news portals, he still remains beyond the reach of the law.

The complaint further mentioned that he could be killed or disappeared at any time. Currently, he and his family members are suffering from extreme insecurity. Immediately look into the matter and bring him under the law and take exemplary punishment.

Meanwhile, after the announcement of the unwanted in the puja mandav, several pictures have been seen going viral on social media Facebook. Since then, there has been a stir over the issue.

When contacted on the mobile phone of Bishu Dev Nath, a permanent resident of Nath Para village, to know about this, he told the reporter that the top influential person Bangi Mohant is continuing the reign of terror in the local area. No one is willing to speak out against him for fear of his life. In addition to various areas of Sylhet metropolis, his profession is to create fake documents under his name and anonymity, change class, cut hills (tillas), evade government revenue, harass innocent people by filing assault cases. He also tortures and oppresses many by kidnapping them. Whenever a case is filed against him, he tries to divert the truth of the incident by paying a large sum of money to the police station. At that time, he said that his two sons are expatriates in Canada. Using that opportunity, he is smuggling illegal assets like the mountains he has built in Bangladesh to Canada. Victim Bishu Deb Nath demanded a thorough investigation.

When talking to the Sylhet District Commissioner in this regard, he said that the High Court has ordered that no citizen should be made unwanted/outcast from society. If anyone is involved in such activities, legal action will be taken against him subject to investigation.
