Rural Electricity Authority employee beaten up in Srimangal, 1 arrested

A young man named Amin (35) has been arrested for beating up Md. Sohel (30), a lineman grade-1 working at the Moulvibazar Rural Electricity Authority (MOUPAB) Srimangal Sindurkhan Sub-Zonal Office.

On Tuesday (April 15), SI (retd) Alok Bihari Gun, under the direction of Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Srimangal Police Station (Md. Aminul Islam), conducted a raid and arrested Amin from Kunjaban village of Sindurkhan Union of the upazila.

The arrested Amin is the son of deceased Manik Mia of Kunjaban village of Sindurkhan Union. During this, the police recovered a stolen mobile phone from the custody of the arrested Alamin.

According to Srimangal Police Station, on April 7, while Amin was going to the site from the complaint redressal office of Sindurkhan Sub-Zonal Office Lineman Shaheen Grahak, Amin stopped his motorcycle and attacked him before he could realize anything, injuring him. At that time, Sohel snatched the mobile phone that was with him.

The AGM (Administration) of Pallibidyut filed a case with Srimangal Police Station as the plaintiff in this incident, and the police arrested the accused Amin.

Srimangal Police Station Officer In-charge (OC) Md. Aminul Islam said that the arrested accused has been sent to jail through the Moulvibazar District Magistrate Court.
