A complaint has been received that 9 cows were killed by poisoning in Srimangal, Moulvibazar. The death of so many cows at once on the farm of a young entrepreneur has created a sensation among the locals.

The incident took place at 10 pm on Thursday (March 6) at the cow farm of young entrepreneur Suleman Ahmed (25) in Paschim Ramnagar village of Ashidron Union, Srimangal.

Entrepreneur Suleman Ahmed has filed a written complaint with the Srimangal Police Station in this incident.

It is known that Suleman Ahmed started the farm business with 20 cows. On March 4, a goat belonging to Md. Ramzan Miah, son of the deceased Amru Miah of the same village, a neighbor of Suleman Ahmed, ate the paddy in Suleman’s cropland. In this incident, Suleman caught the goat and put it in the feeding area. As a result, Ramzan Mia and his son Monir became very angry with Suleman and threatened to take revenge.
Last Wednesday at 10 pm, Suleman came to feed his 20 cows. The next day, Thursday at 6 am, he opened the door of the farm and found two cows lying dead. He immediately informed the veterinarian Raju. The doctor came and after examining them said that the cows had been poisoned. On the doctor’s advice, he buried the two cows in the ground. Later, the doctor gave the other cows antidotes, but till the time of writing this report, 9 cows had died, said the farm owner Suleman Ahmed. He has filed a complaint with the Srimangal police station, accusing Ramzan Mia and his son.

After receiving the complaint, the police visited the scene. Suleman Ahmed said that he built this farm with the help of his relatives and with his own capital. He firmly believes that Ramzan Mia has caused him a huge financial loss in revenge for a trivial incident. He also said that he has been in a dispute with Ramzan Mia since the past. He wants justice for this incident. This cruel incident has created anger and tension in the area. It is known that the law and order situation may deteriorate at any time.

In this regard, Dr. Sabina Yasmin, Surgeon of the Srimangal Upazila Animal Husbandry Department and Veterinary Hospital, said, “Upon receiving the news, we went to Suleman’s farm, so far nine cows have died. All the evidence for the autopsy has been collected. We think the cows may have died due to poisoning. When we tried to contact Ramzan Mia’s mobile phone number in this regard, his phone was switched off.

Srimangal Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Aminul Islam said that the police visited the scene after receiving the complaint. Necessary action will be taken through proper investigation.
