File photo. Police have detained three individuals in Sylhet while they were preparing for a rally organized by the Awami League—an organization currently banned—and its affiliated bodies.
They were detained around 5:00 PM on Friday (September 4) from the Baluchur area under the Shahparan (Rah.) Police Station in the metropolitan city.
The detainees are Md. Abir Hossain (17), son of Syed Ajmal Ali; Raihan Ahmad (17), son of Khaled Ahmad; and Shahriar Biplob (17), son of Shahinur Rahman—all residents of the Baluchur Sonar Bangla area under the Shahparan (Rah.) Police Station. Police stated that there are also prior cases registered against the detainees.
Md. Manjurul Alam, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Media) of the Sylhet Metropolitan Police, confirmed the matter. He said, “Legal proceedings will be completed against the detainees, and they will be produced before the court.”
