Bangladesh Police has provided a financial grant to the family of Md. Altaf Hossain, an Unarmed Sub-Inspector (SI) of the Special Branch who sacrificed his life while on duty. Md. Ali Hossain Fakir, Inspector General of Police (IGP) and Chairman of the Bangladesh Police Welfare Trust, personally handed over the grant to the bereaved family members on behalf of the Police Welfare Trust.

The grant was presented on Thursday morning at Police Headquarters, when Altaf Hossain’s family members met with the IGP.

Expressing deep condolences to the family of the deceased, the IGP stated that the sacrifice made by SI (Unarmed) Md. Altaf Hossain while performing his duties stands as a shining example of professional dedication. The Bangladesh Police will always remember his extraordinary contribution with respect. He also assured the family of all possible support from the Bangladesh Police and remarked that Altaf’s sacrifice merits the highest state honor.

SI (Unarmed) Md. Altaf Hossain was martyred following a surprise attack by terrorists while performing his duties at Bardeshi West Para in Savar on the evening of September 5.
