A departmental case has been filed against 5 people in connection with the attack on Petrobangla’s head office (Petro Center). They have been suspended. Janendra Nath Sarkar, chairman of Petrobangla said that coming to office is being stopped with compulsory leave due to allegations of sabotage. He confirmed this information on Tuesday.

Chairman of Petrobangla Janendra Nath Sarkar said that a departmental case has been filed against five-six people identified by Titus. A general diary has been made in the police station in that incident.

Around 11 am today, the angry people broke the glass of the reception on the ground floor of Petrobangla’s main office located in Karwan Bazar of the capital, and when they tried to block it, they also attacked Petrobangla officials and employees with sticks. A quarter of an hour later they returned to Titus Gas. A group of officers and employees of Titus Gas Transmission and Distribution Company launched this attack demanding cancellation of appointment of new MD Shahnewaz Parvez.

The contract of Titus Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Managing Director Engineer Harunur Rashid Mollah was canceled by the Ministry on September 9. After that Shahnewaz Parvez, Managing Director of Gas Transmission Company, was given the current charge of Managing Director of Titus Gas. Shahnewaz Parvez is known to all as honest and efficient. Which is believed to be one of the reasons for concern for the corrupt officials of Titus Gas.

According to Titas Gas sources, since the assignment of Shahnewaz Parvez, GM (GM ESD) of Titas Helal Talukdar GM (Audit), Md. Rashidul Alam, DGM (PCD), Engineer Enamul Haque, Prepaid Meter Project PD Kawsar Alam Sumon started inciting others. They escaped to Petrobangla and led the attack.

Chairman of Petrobangla told reporters at noon, they may have objections about the new MD, they could have informed us, we would have considered it. But they did not do that and attacked with sticks. When the people of Petrobangla spoke about their negotiations, the ground floor was vandalized. Action will be taken against those involved after viewing the CCTV footage.

Chairman of Petrobangla Janendra Nath Sarkar said, Titus people are demanding that MD should be made from among their officers. But there is no one in the top 50-60 of Titus Gas in Petrobangla’s seniority list. Again there are allegations of corruption against many. By doing this, a class of people are trying to condone corruption. The policy of the interim government is zero tolerance against corruption.
