Although the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) conducted an operation to prevent smuggling at the Sylhet-Sunamganj border, the smuggling trade has not stopped in any way. As part of a series of operations, a smart team of (BGB) raided the Sylhet border on Sunday (September 29) and seized illegal Indian goods worth around a quarter of a crore rupees. A large quantity of powder, sand-stones, betel nuts and lethal liquor were seized. Apart from that, barque boats for stone extraction were also seized.

48 BGB captain Lt. Col. Hafizur Rahman (PSC) said in a press release that on Sunday morning (September 29), 855 kg of Indian chicory powder, 4 thousand 440 kg of sugar, betel nuts, sand-stones and drugs were seized in the border area of ​​Sylhet and Sunamganj districts. The estimated value of these is 74 lakh 79 thousand 150 taka. Also during the operation, BGB also seized a boat illegally extracting stones.
The seized goods will be submitted to the local customs office.
