Mohammad Faridul Islam of the district has been transferred to Rajshahi in connection with the escape of the four convicts sentenced to death by leaking the roof of Ward No. 2 (Condem Cell) of Jaflong Cell of Bogra District Jail.

Inspector General of Prisons (IG Prisons) Brigadier General ASM Anisul Haque signed the transfer order on Monday. In a separate order Syed Shah Sharif of District Jail District Rajbari has been transferred as District Jail District Bogra.

In the order signed by IG Prisons, it is mentioned that Mohammad Faridur Rahman of Bogra District Jail has been transferred as Deputy Superintendent in the Office of the Deputy Inspector General of Prisons, Rajshahi Division. The reason for the transfer is said to be administrative reasons.

Bogra Jail Superintendent Anwar Hossain confirmed the transfer information to the media on Monday night. He said he received the transfer order (July 1) signed by the IG Prison in an e-mail on Monday. One person has been transferred, seven have been suspended and a departmental case has been filed against one.

Four convicts who were sentenced to death escaped by breaking through the roof of Bogra District Jail last Tuesday night. Later, the local mob caught four people from under a bridge near the jail and handed them over to the police.
