Expatriate hacked to death after 3 days of marriage: 3 arrested

Three youths have been arrested in connection with the murder of an expatriate after 3 days of marriage. They were arrested in the early hours of Saturday (November 9) in Munsirhar area under Dhobaura police station in Mymensingh district.

This information was informed in a press release sent from RAB-9 Shaistaganj camp at night.

The arrested are Didar Ali son of Iman Uddin of Latibpur village of Nabiganj Upazila, Zahid son of Mofiz Uddin of the same village and Bablu Mia son of deceased Sahab Uddin.

Earlier, RAB arrested Habibur Rahman (22), one of the accused in this case on November 6.

It is known that Sohan Ahmed (25), son of Siraj Mia of Noagaon village of that upazila, was hacked to death on October 28 in Inatganj Bazar of Nabiganj. Sohan was in exile in Saudi Arabia. He returned home a month ago and got married three days before he died.

According to the police, on October 28, around 6 pm, Sohan had an argument with the son of Ghiyas Uddin, son of the deceased Ghiyas Uddin, and his people. At one stage they started attacking with knives, Sohan ran and tried to protect himself. At this time he chased him and stabbed him more.
Later locals rescued Sohan and took him to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital where he died while undergoing treatment. A murder case was registered at Jagannathpur Police Station on November 2 in this incident as Inatganj Bazaar of Nabiganj is located in Jagannathpur Mauza of Sunamganj District.
