More than 160 people arrested in Srimangal police operation in three months

The police administration is gradually increasing its activity in Srimangal, the tourist city of Moulvibazar. After the attack on Srimangal police station on August 5, all the police officers and constables left the police station with the help of some local people and the army. After this, when the police returned to the police station after the interim government came to power, there was stagnation in their activities. In this situation, the chair of the Srimangal police station officer-in-charge has been changed. Currently, Aminul Islam is in charge of the officer-in-charge.
Aminul Islam said that he has not sat down for a minute since taking charge of the officer-in-charge of Srimangal police station. He is constantly working to maintain law and order in Srimangal. He said that 47 people have been arrested on GR/CR warrants, 12 convicted, 57 in regular cases, 5 robbers, 13 in drug cases and about 25 people in political cases so far.

Those arrested in political cases are Srimangal Upazila Awami League leader Bir Muktijoddha Aschkir Mia, Awami League leader Bir Muktijoddha Moazzem Hossain Chamru, Awami League leader Md. Yusup Ali, Dhaka Ashulia Police Station Awami League leader Md. Ujjwal Sheikh, Fisheries League leader Sagar Mia, Chhatra League leaders Akash Dev Jewel, Jabed Hossain Pappu and Delwar Hossain Nahid, Chhatra League activists Russell Ahmed and Faisal Ahmed, Sramik League leaders Mostafa Kamal, Arjun Das and Shoabur Rahman Ruel, Awami League leader Shamsul Haque, Jubo League leaders Mosharraf Hossain, Sherjan Serju and Jitu Mia, Chhatra League leaders Mahbubul Karim Khan, Zahidul Islam, Gopalganj Awami League leader Khandaker Nasir Uddin and Awami League supporter Kabir Molla of Srimangal Upazila, including about 25 others. He said that their campaign to maintain law and order in Srimangal is continuing.
