Sylhet Kotwali police station’s looted weapons-goods recovery work started

Several arms, ammunition and goods were looted from Sylhet SMP Sadar Police Station and Outpost Police. The police have started recovering these weapons and bullets with the help of the army. Besides, goods are being returned by the initiative of various local residents.

It is known that Kotwali police station’s officer-in-charge (OC) has recovered many looted goods of Kotwali police station on the initiative of Kuarpar residents of the city. Handed over to Nunu Mia.

These goods were handed over on Tuesday (August 13) at 10:30 pm. These include 3 motorcycles, 1 cartridge, 1 laptop, 1 generator, 4 mobile phones, 2 plastic laths, 2 pairs of police shoes, etc.
Earlier on Tuesday afternoon, Sylhet Metropolitan Police (SMP) Media Officer Additional Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Saiful Islam said – 77 different types of firearms and 126 rounds of ammunition have been recovered till Monday (12).

He said – 77 different types of weapons and 126 rounds of bullets have been recovered so far from the weapons looted from various police stations, outposts and policemen of Sylhet Metropolitan Police on August 5. Out of this, 60 weapons were recovered with the help of the army and 17 weapons were recovered by the police force. The recovered weapons include SMGs, china rifles, pistols, shotguns and gas guns. The police have appealed to the police to deposit the weapons and ammunition not recovered so far at the nearest police station or army camp. The count of looted weapons as at last available has not been finalised.
