The Shahparan (Rah.) Mazar Investigation Center Police outpost in Sylhet conducted a raid and arrested three people with 300 bags of Indian sugar near Kavar Bhan. The raid was led by SI Md. Sanaul Islam of the outpost police in collaboration with the OC of Shahparan (Rah.) Police Station.
The three were arrested with 300 bags of sugar near Kavar Bhan from in front of Jalalabad Cantonment Board High School in Bateshwar Bazar area on Saturday (December 14) at 2:10 pm.
The arrested are Md. Montaj Ali (40), son of the deceased Khairatul Zaman of Melandah Police Station in Jamalpur district, Md. Raihan (35), son of Abdul Hossain Bisu of Katakhali Police Station in Rajshahi district, and Md. Raj Ali (18), son of Buddu Mia of Katakhali Police Station in Rajshahi district.
The estimated market value of the seized sugar is 18 lakh taka.
Shahparan (RA) Police Station Officer-in-Charge Monir Hossain confirmed the truth of this matter. He said that the campaign against smuggling will continue.
