Another case has been filed in Habiganj town over anti-discrimination student movement. Yesterday, Wednesday, Meraj Ahmed, son of the deceased Marom Ali, a resident of Natirabad area, filed the case with Sadar Police Station.
The main accused in the case are former MP Alhaj Advocate Abu Zahir, former Upazila Chairman Motashchirul Islam, former Mayor Ataur Rahman Selim, Awami League General Secretary Alamgir Chowdhury, Secretary of Bus Mali Samity Shankh Shuvro Roy, former Mayor of Shayestaganj Municipality Salek Mia, PTI Road Professor Jabed Ali, Advocate Niladri Shekhar Purkayastha Titu, Chhatra League General Secretary Robin Ahmed, Nur Uddin Bulbul, Rajib Ahmed Shafiq, Joynal Abedin Russell, Advocate Shamsul Islam Shamsu, Shyamal Kanti Roy and 79 others, including 100 unidentified people.
The accused seriously injured the plaintiff Maraj by beating him during the anti-discrimination student movement. OC Alamgir Kabir said that since the case has been registered, the operation to arrest the accused is ongoing.
