Mufti Jaseem Uddin Rahmani, head of Ansarullah Bangla Team, convicted in the murder case of Ganajagran Manch activist blogger Rajeev Haider, has been released on bail.
He was released from Kashimpur High Security Central Jail at 12:15 on Monday.
Mohammad Lutfar Rahman of the district confirmed the matter. He said that Mufti Jasim Uddin Rahmani got bail in the case filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act. After checking the bail documents, he was released.
Mufti Jasim Uddin Rahmani is the son of Nur Mohammad of Khajur Tola village of Sadar police station in Barguna district.
His elder brother Md. stayed at the main gate of Kashimpur High Security Central Jail since the news of his release. Abdul Khalil, Md. Abdul Jalil, Md. Ayub Ali and his followers Shaykh Abdullah alias Nazrul Islam and other followers.
It is known that a case was filed against him on February 6, 2008 under the Anti-Terrorism Act at the Uttara West Police Station. He was granted bail by the Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court on August 25 in that case. Three more cases against him have also been withdrawn.
