A view exchange meeting titled ‘Accountability of Police Superintendent’ was held with journalists from Moulvibazar district.

This opinion exchange meeting was held in the meeting room of the District Police Superintendent’s office on Wednesday (February 26).

The meeting was presided over by Moulvibazar District Police Superintendent M, K, H, Jahangir Hossain PPM-Seba.

The Police Superintendent answered various questions from journalists regarding the current law and order situation in the district, traffic management in the district during the upcoming Ramadan, price control, extortion, robbery, malam parties, drugs and various social problems.

He said, our aim is to build a society without discrimination, a Bangladesh without discrimination. The precondition for this is the improvement of law and order, providing police services to the people according to their needs. No one involved in the crime, even if he is a police member, will be given any kind of exemption.
The Superintendent of Police also said that in addition to theft, robbery, drugs, and kidnapping, there are various social problems in Moulvibazar district. These problems should not be tackled by the police alone, but by all the stakeholders of the society. Social problems can be eliminated only by building a social movement. He also emphasized on strengthening community policing and beat policing to control smuggling, extortion and other crimes.

Journalists from print and electronic media from Moulvibazar District Press Club and various upazila press clubs participated in the said exchange of views. Also present at the time were Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) Md. Ajmal Hossain, District Special Branch DIO-1 Abu Hussain, Officer-in-Charge of Moulvibazar Sadar Police Station Gazi Mahbubur Rahman and other officials.
