Moulvibazar District Chhatra League Vice-President Abdus Samad Azad (31) has been detained by the Immigration Police of Benapole Checkpost. Police said that there are 7 cases against the detained Chhatra League leader Azad.
On Wednesday (July 23), at 10 am, he came to Benapole Immigration on a passport visa. After that, the immigration authorities found multiple cases in his database and arrested him and handed him over to Benapole Port Police Station.
The arrested Abdus Samad Azad (Passport No. A-13959192) is the son of Md. Akib Ali of Mostafapur village in Ward No. 4 of Moulvibazar Sadar district.
Benapole Immigration Authorities said that there are 7 cases against him in Moulvibazar Sadar Police Station. He was going to India on a medical visa.
Moulvibazar Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Gazi Mahbur Rahman confirmed the matter and said, “We have come to know from secret sources that he will go to India through Benapole. In view of our application, Benapole Check Post Immigration Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ilias Hossain Munshi, after verifying his passport at the Immigration, found that there is a case against him. Immediately, Moulvibazar District DIO-1 and Moulvibazar Sadar Police Station OC were informed of the matter and found that there are 7 cases against the mentioned person.
Benapole Check Post OC said that Abdus Samad Azad, an accused in 7 cases against him, has been taken into police custody. Since there is a case against him at Moulvibazar Police Station, he will be handed over to that police station.
