Newly appointed Superintendent of Police (SP) Md. Jashim Uddin has pledged that the police and journalists will work unitedly to combat crime in Gazipur.

He expressed this commitment on Thursday afternoon (September 10) during an exchange meeting with print and electronic media journalists working in Gazipur, held at the conference room of the Superintendent of Police’s office.

Md. Jashim Uddin stated, “We want the police and journalists to work together to curb various crimes in the district, including terrorism, extortion, drug abuse, juvenile gang activities, and cattle theft. Therefore, a collective effort involving the media, public representatives, social organizations, and the general public—alongside the police—is essential for controlling crime.”

The SP noted that Gazipur is a significant industrial and densely populated district. He emphasized that the police would prioritize ensuring public safety and controlling crime. “Regardless of who the offender is, legal action will be taken based on the nature of the crime and the evidence. No crime will be condoned,” he asserted.

He added, “We aim to work in collaboration with everyone to improve the law and order situation.”

Addressing the residents of Gazipur, the SP highlighted the vital importance of public cooperation in building a safe society. He urged citizens to promptly inform the police about crimes and to build social resistance against criminals. He also assured that the district police would continue their utmost efforts to bring police services to the people’s doorsteps and maintain a stable law and order situation.

Journalists from Gazipur Sadar, as well as Kaliakair, Sreepur, Kapasia, and Kaliganj upazilas, participated in the meeting organized by the district police. During the session, the journalists highlighted the law and order situation in various areas of Gazipur.

Also present at the meeting were Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime & Ops) Md. Ashfaquzzaman, Additional Superintendent of Police (DSB) Mohammad Mozammel Haque Reza, Additional Superintendent of Police (DB) Md. Aminul Islam, and other officials from the district police.
