Yellow oranges are hanging in bunches on the rooftop garden of Suhit Ranjan Das of Srimangal, Moulvibazar. When you get on the roof, you will think that this is an orange grown in the garden of a professional farmer. Seeing yellow ripe and semi-ripe oranges hanging on the tree fills your heart. There is no reason not to like the sight of oranges peeking out from between the leaves.
I have seen many people on YouTube growing oranges and Malta roof gardens on the roof of their houses. Since then, I have wanted to make such an orange garden on the roof of my house. First, I took advice from a relative of mine and brought China Three variety orange seedlings from there and planted them in the roof garden. I did not use any chemical fertilizers or pesticides on the trees. I only used cow dung fertilizer. The trees bore oranges within two years of planting. Each tree has 80 to 90 oranges. Dr. Suhit Ranjan Das of the Sabujbagh residential area of Srimangal said that in addition to oranges, he has also planted Malta, Safeda, mango, pomegranate, and amla in the rooftop garden.
Suhit Ranjan took some pictures of ripe oranges from his rooftop garden and posted them on social media Facebook, and every day someone or the other came to his house. Biswajit Roy Liton, who came to see the orange garden, said, “This is the first time I have seen oranges and Malta cultivated in the rooftop garden of Srimangal. I was happy to see oranges, Malta and other flowers hanging in bunches from the trees.”
He said, “The oranges and Malta fruits on this rooftop are not only big in size, but also delicious to eat.” Biswajit Roy Liton said that he wants to start such a fruit garden. Teacher Suman Sarkar, who came to see the rooftop garden, said, “I am happy to see such a fruit garden on the rooftop. The size and quality of the oranges are very good and attractive to look at.” Almost all of us have some fallow land at home. If you cultivate not only fruits but also vegetables and various flowers on these lands or on the roof of your house, you will be successful.
