Sarjis Alam, the main organizer of the National Citizens’ Committee, is coming to the tea workers’ rally in Moulvibazar.
On Sunday (January 12), Sarjis Alam will talk about the education, health, housing, job security and above all the improvement of the quality of life of tea workers and will join the rally at Kurma Tea Garden in Kamalganj Upazila.
The rally will be held at Kurma Tea Garden ground in Kamalganj Upazila of the district around 2 pm on Sunday.
Joint convener of the National Citizens’ Committee Sarwar Tushar and central organizer of the National Citizens’ Committee Pritam Das will also be present at the tea workers’ rally.
Central organizer of the National Citizens’ Committee Pritam Das said, “We are continuing our fight against economic inequality, exploitation and oppression to fulfill the aspirations of the July Uprising. Tea workers have been victims of discrimination for ages.” The unbridled looting of the fascist system has brought the tea industry and workers to the brink of destruction. In this context, a tea workers’ rally will be held demanding the immediate reopening of all closed tea gardens, taking an effective role in protecting workers and the tea industry, and humane wages. Where Sarjis Alam, the chief organizer of the National Citizens’ Committee, will speak as the chief guest.
Tea workers’ leader Dhana Bauri said, there are many problems of tea workers. We will highlight these issues in the rally. Workers from different tea gardens of Moulvibazar district will come to this rally.
Another tea worker’s son, Apan Bonarji Rudra, said, the rally is being held on Sunday. Since the tea gardens are closed on this day, many tea workers will join the rally.
