Julie Bishop, the UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy on Myanmar, paid a courtesy call on the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Tarique Rahman, in New York, where he is currently staying to attend the 81st session of the UN General Assembly.
The meeting took place on Tuesday (September 22) at the Hyatt Grand Central Hotel in New York, the Prime Minister’s place of residence.
Discussions during the meeting focused on a sustainable solution to the Rohingya crisis and the effective role of the international community in resolving the issue. Prime Minister Tarique Rahman sought the cooperation of the international community to ensure the dignified repatriation of the Rohingyas.
