In another investigation, on 3/10/2023, the investigating officer, Deputy Assistant Director Md. Al-Amin, mentioned in the preliminary information of his investigation that Shri Ratan Mani Mohant had fraudulently changed the category of land in 37 documents through forgery and fraud and embezzled a total of 80,27,363/- (eighty lakh twenty seven thousand three hundred sixty three) taka from the government by evading government revenue. He was accused of the crime of Section- 406/420/467/468/471 of the Penal Code. For some unknown reason, the bank balance of crores of taka including luxurious houses, cars, markets is still hidden. Even though he did not leave the country after the fall of the Awami League government, he is openly roaming around with heroic pride. Another source has confirmed that Ratan Moni Mohant secretly spent crores of taka from the budget to counter the anti-discrimination student-public movement during the movement, Awami League leaders and activists and various circles of the administration.
