The draft voter list will be published today, Thursday, after the update. The Election Commission (EC) will publish the final voter list on March 2 after correcting objections after the list is published. This information was given by EC Public Relations Director Md. Shariful Islam on Wednesday.
Election Commissioner Brigadier General (Retd.) Abul Fazal Md. Sanaullah will present details on this issue at the Media Center of Nirkhan Bhaban in Agargaon today.
Earlier, he said that so far the EC has information on 1.7 million voters, which they will insert on January 2. However, if it is complete, this number could be up to 4.5 million, he said.
The Election Commissioner also said that the information of those who have been excluded will be collected by going door to door. In addition, the information of those who will be eligible to become voters on January 1, 2026 will also be collected. This activity will be undertaken from March onwards.
EC officials said that the door-to-door voter list update process may start from January 20. According to the latest updated information, there are 121,850,160 voters in the country.
