The Anti-Corruption Commission-ACC has conducted a drive at the 250-bed General Hospital in Moulvibazar. After the drive, the ACC Deputy Director commented that the hospital’s medical services, environment and food for patients admitted to the hospital are satisfactory by far.
A three-member delegation led by ACC Habiganj District Office Deputy Director Md. Ershad Mia conducted the drive on Tuesday (May 20) afternoon.
During the drive, the ACC delegation verified the quality of food at the hospital, medicines and menus, and the truth of allegations of irregularities in appointments.
During the drive, ACC Habiganj Office Deputy Director Md. Ershad Mia said that there is a complaint from the ACC head office to the Enforcement Department that the food is being provided of comparatively low quality. And it is mentioned in the complaint that an appointment was made here. Regular treatment is not being provided and medicines are not being given properly. We conducted a drive mainly on these 4 complaints.
The ACC Deputy Director further told reporters that the biggest complaint was about the hospital’s recruitment. Stating that there was no outsourcing or internal recruitment here, he said, “We had a complaint that recruitment was done through nepotism, but we collected various information and documents during the drive and found that no such recruitment had taken place. In addition, medicines are being given properly in the outpatient department of the hospital.”
During the drive, the hospital’s assistant director Dr. Binendu Bhowmik and other doctors were present.
