Hasnat Abdullah, coordinator of anti-discrimination student movement, commented that if the price of goods is not brought within the reach of common people, people may come down on the streets against this government. He referred to the sudden increase in the prices of goods as a conspiracy of fascism.
Hasnat Abdullah said these words while participating in an exchange meeting at Mirpur-10 fire service ground of the capital on Friday afternoon. Anti Discrimination Student Movement, Greater Mirpur organized this meeting.
Addressing the interim government, Hasnat Abdullah said, ‘Until the prices of goods are brought within the reach of the common man and the problem of traffic congestion is not solved, the common man will become impatient. Please bring the prices within the reach of common people as soon as possible. If not, people can come down the streets any time against this government.
Hasnat Abdullah said, the anti-discrimination student movement has been uncompromising on the question of transparency, morality, truth and Bangladesh since the beginning. The journey to freedom from fascism will not be successful until the fascist system is finally eradicated from this country. He said, ‘Fascism, judicial system, new political arrangement – we cannot fill our stomach. When we go to the market and find the price of things out of reach, when we have to sit in traffic jams for hours, then subconsciously we think that “we were good before”. Hasnat Abdullah called it the ‘ultimate conspiracy’.
Sarjis Alam, another coordinator of anti-discrimination student movement, said to the gathered students, “I may be moving away from the spirit of the coup due to small differences, divisions and misunderstandings.” Remember, our challenge is not over yet. The time to retain the spirit of the coup is not over.’
Sarzis said, ‘As long as a government elected by the people does not come forward with this spirit in mind, until then the friends of fascists will come among you in different forms, divided into different groups, create divisions and confront you, create greed for different interests and He further said, “If you are greedy for money, keep in mind the picture of robbers and torturers Salman F Rahman, former Law Minister Anisul Haque and former Information Technology Minister Junaid Ahmed going to court in handcuffs. Share that video on your timeline.
Sarzis mentioned that people injured in the movement are still being harassed while filing lawsuits. He said, “The police who still hesitate to take cases, sit for money to arrest the accused, the police who have not yet grasped the spirit of the coup, we do not consider the police as students’ police.”
Anti-discrimination student movement coordinator Tariqul Islam and Abdul Quader addressed the rally among others. Abdul Quader expressed dismay at the division of the agitators after August 5. Tariqul Islam said, “We will remain on the streets until the end of the struggle to abolish fascism.”
