Farzana Lalarukh has been appointed as Commissioner of Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission. The BSEC and BICM branches of the Financial Institutions Department of the Ministry of Finance gave this information in a notification on Tuesday.
Through this, the Capital Market Regulatory Commission led by Khandkar Rashed Maqsood became full.
Farzana Lalarukh has been appointed as per the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission Act for four years, according to a notification signed by Deputy Secretary Farida Yasmin. His salary and other benefits will be determined as per the agreement executed with the government.
The notification also said that the order will come into effect immediately citing public interest.
Farzana Lalarukh joined teaching after doing honors and masters from Finance and Banking Department of Dhaka University. After completing his studies in February this year, he became the chairman of a research institute named ‘Innovative Development Practitioners and Thinkers Limited’. He has been an independent director at DBH Finance PLC since last July.
Before this, the former senior district and session judge Md. was appointed as commissioner of BSEC last August 28. Ali Akbar
