Shaistaganj (Habiganj) Representative //
A newspaper vendor named Pavel Mia (20) died while getting off the moving oil train in Shaistaganj.
On Monday (September 30) around 2.30 pm, the accident took place on the east side of Shaistaganj railway junction near the then railway warehouse. Pavel Mia is the son of Md. Abdul Mannan of Biramchar village in Shaestaganj upazila town.
In-charge of Shaistaganj Railway Police Outpost SI Mir Sabbir Ali confirmed the matter to The Daily Morning Sun, quoting locals, and said that two youths were sitting between the two compartments of the Srimangal-bound oil train that left Chittagong at noon. As soon as the oil train arrived at the Shaistaganj railway station, a friend jumped down while it was moving. Seeing his friend go down, Pavel Miao jumped and fell under the train and was crushed to death.
Confirming this, station master Gaur Prasad Das Palash said that Pavel Mia and his friend were in the same oil tanker. Both of them think that the oil train will stop at Shaistaganj railway junction. Both of them jumped from a moving oil train and fell to pieces. When the police of the railway police outpost were informed, the police went to the spot and recovered the body. No case has been filed till the writing of this report. It is said that the deceased Pabel Mia used to sell local and national newspapers.
