An exchange of views on various issues including increasing students’ attendance at school and developing English and Bangla reading skills was held in Srimangal, Moulvibazar.
On Friday (July 11), a meeting was held between district and upazila primary education officers with teachers and students of the Paul Harris Rotary High School Primary Branch and Srimangal Yogendra Model Government Primary School run by the Rotary Club in Srimangal.
District Primary Education Officer Md. Shafiul Alam was present as the chief guest at the event.
Assistant District Primary Education Officer Kisholay Chakraborty, Upazila Primary Education Officer Md. Rafiqul Islam, Upazila Assistant Primary Education Officer Jyotish Ranjan Das, Rotary Club President Mashiur Rahman Ripon, General Secretary Bikul Chakraborty, Paul Harris Rotary High School Principal Dil Afroz Begum and Srimangal Yogendra Model Government Primary School Principal Nazma Begum.
The meeting suggested increasing the attendance of students in school, developing English and Bangla reading skills, improving handwriting, and giving students ideas on contemporary subjects in addition to regular education. At this time, the district and upazila primary education officials urged them to work towards testing students on various subjects including phonemic awareness, letter knowledge, vocabulary, fluency and comprehension.
