The police recovered an Indian mobile display worth Rs 36 lakh from Srimangal in Moulvibazar.
The police recovered these 5 cartoons from the office of AJR Transport Agency last Monday night. Later, the cartoon was opened, in which 24’00 piece LCD Indian mobile display with a market value of 36 lakh rupees was mentioned. On Wednesday night, the police filed a case against 3 people.
According to the police and local sources, the smugglers often deliver various products illegally brought from India to different districts of the country through the Indian border Sindurkhan Union of the upazila through courier services and railways. The destination of the 5 cartoons recovered in the police operation that night was in Narsingdi district. On the cartoon, the recipient’s address contained Johnny Das’s name and his mobile number. Kamrul’s name is given in the sender’s address.
When contacted on the mobile number of Johnny Das, he admitted that he is a mobile dealer in Narsingdi city. Srimangal Sindurkhan bought these Indian mobile displays from Phatik Mia of Union. Payment is due after the goods arrive. The sender’s number was contacted but the phone was not received.
On inquiry about Phatik Mia, it is known that she is the secretary of market trader committee of Sindurkhan Union. However, he denied his involvement in the incident.
In this regard, the officer in charge of Srimangal police station. Aminul Islam told The Daily Morning Sun that, under the direction of the Superintendent of Police of Moulvibazar district, we recovered 2400 pieces of Indian mobile displays worth Tk 36 lakh that came in the stolen way last Monday night. In this incident, a case has been filed in the name of two other people, making Fatik Mia, a recognized smuggler in the police list, the main defendant.
