A woman named Brishti Sarkar (18) died mysteriously 15 days after her wedding without removing the henna stain in Ranigaon Union of Chunarughat Upazila of Habiganj district. Her husband and in-laws’ house have been absconding since the incident.
It is learned that Brishti Sarkar, the daughter of Sufi Sarkar, was studying. Since she was beautiful, a young man from the same area proposed to her for marriage. They got married 15 days ago. Since then, inhuman torture has been going on on Brishti. Last Friday night, the unconscious body of Brishti was found at her in-laws’ house. When the family members rescued her and brought her to Sadar Hospital, the doctor declared her dead.
The body was examined and handed over to the family after an autopsy on Saturday afternoon. The family claims that the people of the in-laws’ house killed her.
In this regard, the OC of Chunarughat police station told The Daily Morning Sun that it is believed that he committed suicide by consuming poison. However, the cause of death will be known only after the autopsy report comes. Action will be taken if a complaint is filed.
