A mother was allegedly raped by holding a gun to her child’s neck and threatening to kill her in Dhamrai, Dhaka. The police arrested the accused in this incident on Sunday night.

The accused Saiful Islam (50) was arrested in a raid in the Boro Chandrail area of ​​the upazila. He is the son of the deceased Afsar Mistri. The police sent him to court on Monday. The rape took place last Saturday night.

Citing the victim, Dhamrai Police Station SI Abdur Rahman said that a man worked in a garment factory in Ashulia by renting a house. He left his one-year-old child and wife at home and went to work on the Saturday night shift. Taking this opportunity, Saiful cut the tin of the house and entered the house. After that, he held a sharp weapon to the child’s neck and threatened to kill the housewife. At one point, when the local people came forward to hear the woman’s screams, Saiful fled. The next day, the housewife’s husband filed a complaint with Dhamrai Police Station, and the police arrested Saiful on Sunday night.

Dhamrai Police Station SI Abdur Rahman said that the arrested Saiful confessed to the rape. He has been sent to court.
